knowing this is from some dumb novel and feeling like you’re surrounded by characters, not people, and living every day of your slowly ticking down life with 2 mil on the line. and when you start seeing people are more than objectives, you find there was someone who looked nearly identical who was deeply entrenched in their lives and you’re a replacement. like even if the ones closest could separate you from the ‘first one’, there will still be people who sorta kinda knew him and will always see you as some freakishly similar copy. you’ll just live your life surrounded by a collective of people who see someone else when they see you. i’d go fucking crazy
