oh i also want to say i'm proud of jinhyeong too and what he's doing is very brave. he's truly a kindred soul to me and i relate to him a lot; cutting off a parent who has neglected and mistreated you is very hard because there's a part of you that wishes they could learn how to love you! i did it myself this year and you kind of mourn the relationship you could've had if only that parent was a good person. still, i hope he doesn't regret or go back on his choice. it's never been that jinhyeong didn't deserve the luxuries afforded to him by jinpil, it's that jinpil took a good son like jinhyeong for granted and traded him for his pride. he'll have to live with that until he dies.
