Also the entrapment and SA trope is super controversial, yes. I never once mistook this Manhwa as the fluffy non-psychological type (if u did u lack media literacy). And I HAVE to preface this. I’ve been reading for a hell of a long time and I’ve read far worse (not proud but not ashamed either sometimes that’s all we had before bj Alex damn). I usually don’t mind darker manhwa plots but why is it the same thing every time? Why is it genuinely a box they have to check off in EVERY morally gray manhwa.
I can actually name all of the ones I have see with the exact same image of a guy either thrown/trapped on a bed covered in marks as the top threatens and has their way with them either non-consensually or consensual non-con. It’s so repetitive that it rings to me like the K-dramas where the girl falls in slow-mo and he catches her or the guy grabs her wrist and they stare at each other for an uncomfortably long time. Like ugh why.
If a darker aspect is what you want to write for the plot, fine, do what you want. Though is this genuinely the only thing they can think of?? There are other forms of abuse and/or enacting fear in another person that gets the reader to feel the tension and anxiety. Idk yelling, throwing, mental manipulation, actually anything other than sexual abuse. I simply came to the conclusion authors believe that if the victim feels pleasure the abuse does not count or more likely: that due to the pornographic aspect of the content, moral limits irl go out the window. When it comes down to it it’s not even entertaining and I gotta be honest, it doesn’t even shock me. So if that was the goal well u failed.
