For anyone struggling with self harm, this is usually because they can't regulate their emotions. It's a complex addiction, but there comes a point where it's apply to that or where SOME people use it as a tool to manipulate others or hurt them deeply for their own satisfaction (can be both of not knowing what to do with your emotions and wanting to hurt someone). The sanpaku eyes character currently used self harm to directly hurt the musician, even knowledging that it's his attempt to leave trauma. After that, the story shifts to sexualization of that self-harm, as the musician actually admits that he likes this (despite it being self-harm) and literally has sex with him after. They even knowledge self-harm to be horrible yet sexualize it. This is not validation but instead a display of a bad relationship between a mentally ill person and enabler. If you find this romantic or a good reputation of yourself, and knowledge how horrible and toxic this is. You're not in a good mindset, and need to reevaluate yourself. Don't try to argue with that last bit either, because that's a statement not something that can be argued.
