My main couple is capitalismmaxxing and taking advantage of native tribeswomen and kelly is literally held hostage and branded by a woman leveraging her status and power to keep her around this has gone to shit. The author being super woke about women and their limited roles in aristocratic society vs being okay w a person allowing another to almost get assaulted to ‘wake them up’ (they are hinted to be another future couple), having toxic yuri with a deeply problematic (but also completely non compelling) aristocract/pauper dynamic while the only good couple is now becoming all about growing wealth even unethically… vro just send them back to school where this was still good.
