This is not a ground breaking plot like some comments said but it's not terrible either. I do believe it gets dragged for too long (made me quit at around ch 80 but then I came back to finish it). It would have been a more enjoyable read if it were shorter. Perhaps it could also have simplified the plot too. As it is, it's a bit too complicated "for nothing" imo because the "plot twists" weren’t that surprising. I'm not saying I could have guessed the plot, but just that it was in line with the story. "The manor is cursed! Actually she made a pact! But he did too! And then she did another! And that’s why they were stuck". It just gives a feeling of trying to make it complicated to cover up the lack of depth. We see a lack of depth in the story, world building, but also the relationships. They're all kind of shallow, they're just not that well written imo. Their obsession for each other is too easy, and the child just does a 180 in one chapter when he learns the truth about his uncle. Likewise we saw a glimpse of the brother's child version but it got dismissed to be replaced by a more simple minded and obsessive brother with impure love.
