Still not entirely clear who the tentacle guy actually is. Like, I guess he's not actually involved with the cube itself, but his anomaly is too... Otherworldly I guess? Nvm tentacles, but able to blend into crowds and make people forget his existence.
His dialog makes him seem really underdeveloped as a person? Did he grow up in a lab and watched TV to understand human emotions?
