As far as guideverse goes, this one is pretty pure and their relationship is wholesome. I personally think this one would have benefited more from being a bit spicier, considering the world and story weren’t too special or captivating in any way. It’s a pretty straight forward cut and dry story, so the saving grace was their built up relationship. Side characters, world building, etc nothing stood out really. The ranking system based on poker cards wasn’t that important, and it was actually a little bit cringey to me lol. I think they should have just went with the regular standard ranking, because the poker rankings really didn’t add anything to the story despite being in the title lol. It was negligible. Art was pretty inconsistent throughout, but I still liked the art overall! I’m curious about the novel, because I think some of the sort of “jankiness” that you feel from this webtoon is similar to other webtoons that are adapted from a novel. They all have this piecemeal feeling you can tell would most likely flow better in word form with more information rather than comic form.
Overall still enjoyable for a quick binge! In the end I liked the two main characters and how their relationship slowly developed with each other. It was a lot more innocent than I thought it would be, and not in a bad way!
