The old lady is being a hypocrite and I honestly don't know if they'll address it. I hope the stylish mangaka in love with her knocks some sense in her. Or Sasaki. Or maybe the guy from HQ. I think she was probably seeing herself in her and unjustly exploded years of built up emotions. She ALSO was thinking too much about other people and was hiding she was retiring because she personally made the decision to decide it was what's best for everyone. I hope she finds out how hurtful it was for all her coworkers to learn it from someone else and that she was wrong to explode at our girl. This manga is pretty good at dealing with complex emotions so fingers crossed! I actually think the guy from HQ having a talk with her would be the most fitting narratively but we'll see. I have hope because you could tell the others were shocked at her being so nasty. I'm sure she has complex feelings on retiring too.
