This might be late of me to realize this...but Gozu's name refers to one of the Hell Guardians of Buddhism, Gozu, the Bull-Headed Guardian.
...He's stubborn, to the point of being bull headed. Practically smashed the entire canon like it was a china shop...and he's in love with a demon lord.
