The setting just feels so sloppy. It’s got the general tropes of slop stories that I would read the past time but the world building is comically bad. Obviously the set up is then the main character is secretly skilled in the way people around them don’t recognize. But if the scene is such a revered existence, and cant use magic, what kind of dumb fuck country would endorse terrible treatment and outcast towards people who don’t show signs of being able to use magic without even testing them to see if they might actually be a saint. Maybe the reason they only show up every couple hundred years is because all the other ones just get fucking abused to death Be so fr rn
