Seoryo, this "demonic beast" is not a demonic beast. I haven't read the novel but it's obvious that this character is the second male lead. I am not a fan of this. I am really tired of love triangles, especially in manhwa specifically. It is not done well in most cases and is just a cheap way to create tension and conflict. The main character, Soya, is obviously meant to be the Golden Dragon's (the 5th prince in this case) bride. Which they constantly allude to. Instead of building off of that relationship and creating chemistry between the two fated ones, we instead get another character to serve as a love interest (which in my opinion has more chemistry than what we are shown with the prince at this points).
This sucks because I always end up rooting for the second male lead more often than the first one. This is due to the fact that often the second male lead is 1, a childhood friend which creates history and adds to their relationship, 2, has a contrasting personality that creates tension but also chemistry, 3, the second male lead will most likely give their all to the main character, even if it means sacrificing their life for them. I mean, the prince had like one cameo of the main character together and it was in like one chapter. I don't understand how I'm supposed to root for this ship if you give me a second male lead who I like better. Obviously, this opinion might change because we haven't seen much of the prince, but that is the reason why I don't like the fact that they introduced a second male lead. We barely have anything to build off from the first male lead. But we all know that in the end, the Soya will get with the Prince. The readers didn't need for Seoryo to become human, he was fine as a demonic beast that Soya "tamed".
I just can't find myself to be entertained with cheap material like love triangles, they are genuinely a big pet peeve of mine when I find one. And I KNOW a second male lead when I see one. The instant the Father went "Seoryo looks like a young boy acting cute to impress his crush" I knew they would introduce him as a love interest. It's pissing me off.
