It won't update you the moment the chapter is released on this site. From my understanding and experience, it will wait a certain amount of time and if within that time if a chapter from a manga in your 'reading' or 'already read' lists are released then it will hold that information and update you all at once
My lists used to be big enough that I'd get notified about 20+ chapters in a given time
