First, this is before artists became obsessed with smut scenes so there's actually character development and plot development. Secondly, the ML is crazy and obsessive and doesn't see anyone but the MC as a human, but he never uses that as an excuse to cross the line with the MC. I can't say the same about most similar BLs. Thirdly, the art is great and as the series went on, the characters started to look less like each other so the nonlinear storyline gets less confusing. I really hope this author makes a fill recover and continues creating. I really miss their work
