Just because it’s not your cup of tea doesn’t mean it’s bad writing. As someone who likes this sub genre of stories (mundane, low stakes, slow, self contained, focusing on what ISN’T being said or shown out loud), I think it was okay in terms of writing, not terrible. This type of story and movie probably just isn’t your thing is all
