exactly! all the abuse zhenya puts taekjoo though is when they’re still enemies with no feelings attached. taekjoo escaping rhe island is when zhenya becomes better, that’s 7 volumes of no rape or abuse.
but omg ilay is just horrible start to finish even with feelings involved. ilay’s better in the sequel but isolated, passion is a tough fucking read
The diff bet Ilay and Zhenya, was that Taekjo was able to tame Zhenya the moment they become lovers(tho it started reluctantly). Ilay on the other hand....is untamable I haven't read the novel so I have no idea what'll happen. But I marinated this thinking these 2 finally had things figured out...ig not
