Idk if he's acting this way for a reason but the way he be treating her is crazy like i understand him mising his wife and being scared for her to leave him but he has no faith in her whatsoever or even hears what she is saying, she had suffered from the years og him gone and even suffered from the castle when they first came and she had to work to make them LIKE her she needs to do something for herself and he is being selfish about it.
