It's either that or just generally misguided ppl influenced by the purity spiral in progressive spaces and the good old performative morality pushed by conservatives around the world. The latter isn't anything new ofc, but it did gain momentum worldwide through a certain orange troll. Both those sides feed into having some moral high ground to police what others do, when it's literally none of their business since it doesn't affect them in any way nor does it impede their rights.

If that's not your cup of fictional tea, then it's fine to dislike it and express that, just don't shame those who want to read.
