I agree... He worked hard to achieve what he had to give it all up for maxi is the definition of someone who lives and treasures her...Maxi wanting to live as an equal is commendable, but let's not act like in the current era there in she is not the norm, so why are you guys hating on Riftan
You know the last couple of arguments I was not on riftans side. But this one made more sense as to why he acts like this and not just it being oh he is an ass. At this point his relationship with maxi gave him purpose and acceptance. His love of her and her accepting him back has to do how he sees himself as useful or valuable to her. He has put all his value and worth on her but he can’t seem to cope with the idea she doesn’t feel an equal to him and he can’t be the one to fix that for her. We don’t know how that time apart affected him but it definitely shows he scared to lose her and he thinks he will. His anger issue tho.. that’s a whole different thing lol. But I’m glad maxi is saying her feelings and wants to be strong on her own and not be carrying this guilt all the time. Plus I think the time apart will help riftan also see she not this perfect lady who fragile and is to be idolized but his equal partner.
