I agree with all of this but would like to point out that even if Inju got hard and/or came, it’s still rape. Those reactions don’t come from pleasure.
But yes, one of the few stories on here that’s not romanticising assault. Even if the ML is a bit pushy (he actually acknowledges it and feels bad)
If people reading this can’t actually see the context and what the story is actually telling them, there’s no helping them.
You're spot on!! a lot of the criticism I see is because sometimes the "victim" gets hard and "enjoys" it. So, it's bad and awful, and nobody should look at it. But when the rape is depicted as something actually traumatic, it's still bad and awful, and nobody should look at it. So, it feels like, as you say, people simply can't understand context or the stories they're reading. All fluff is good (even if it's coercive) and all angst is bad (even though it's used to tell a realistic story). Ugh.
I know. I hate when people shy away from the hard topics, they miss so much of the story.
On an interesting note, I do like how, despite being trapped in a “relationship” with his boss, the MC isn’t actually infatuated with him like in most stories. He just feels helpless. But he never excuses the boss’s behaviour and doesn’t give in. I really want more of that.
You get it! It's great to see someone who gets the subtleties of these rare, good stories. Inju's a good person, but he's not innocent. He tries to understand the abusive "love" the team leader has for him and have a good life at his job. At the same time, he's consistent and won't accept a relationship with ML either. In a way, both of them are forcing their feelings on him, like you said. It's interesting to see how Inju reacts to both of them, but either way, the relationships are one-sided, and I think the point is for Inju to be able to establish a mutual relationship with both of them.
Well, I fully get why he’s not reciprocating the boss’s feelings, he’ll the guy doesn’t even admit he likes Inju and seems content with primary school bs of pulling pigtails to get his way. Like his comment at the start of the latest chapter “this is not a relationship you can end because you want to” basically saying Inju has no choice and the boss doesn’t care about what he wants (as he stated in a previous chapter)
So thankful there’s no chance for that to become mutual.
Inju is cautious of the ML for similar reasons but that guy is more opened with his feelings and “I’ll do what you want” as oppose to “you’ll do what I want”. I mean the ML seems obsessed with him enough to go down a darker path but he has more self control and knows Inju won’t like that.
Full disclosure, I’ve found the raws last night (they seem completed) and I poor man translated them. So I know how this ends.
Y'all are so insensitive to depictions of actual traumatic rape and not sexualized rape. do you see Inju enjoying it? do you see him cumming? do you see him being happy about it? DEPICTION IS NOT ENDORSEMENT!! you’re always crying wolf, but when a manhwa depicts an abusive relationship in which one of the two people doesn’t know how to ask for help and walk away because they’re traumatized, suddenly it “leaves a bad taste in your mouth”—which makes me think you’d act the same way toward people in real life... You’re all hypocrites.
