I agree. I also reread it recently and realized how much I really enjoyed the story. Despite the red flags, the story is well-constructed, but I'm concerned about how the author will handle Ilay's character development arc.
I'm a hundred percent sure that NO'ONE feels what I feel right now. I reread EVERYTHING. I cried tears of joy, I understood so much more, I got new insights, I developed new opinions. This is so beautifully and good written and this part will definitely contribute in their character growth but it just hurts so much, my throat is dry, my cheeks are tear stained and my heart aches so much for Taeui right now. It may not look like it but Ilay has an obvious fear of abandonment and he doesn’t know how to comprehend those feelings so he resorted to violence yet again because that is all he has done. In the end I have come to the conclusion that this is the most beautiful written story ever. Even when it hurts.
