I dnt think it’s “bad” per se objectively speaking I believe this seasons story is a bit more twisted than what the readers are use to. I think the twist in this season came as a shock especially because we believed the story ended on such a wholesome note for a long period of time. So seeing all this treachery off the bat got ppl pissed.
