he just gradually developed feelings towards her. honestly the manhwa is rushing A LOT rn and skipped a fuckton of things in this arc. in the novel we got his pov a little bit while he was looking for cherry so the readers were privy to his inner monologue and just the way he worked out in his mind that he fell for cherry between being really scared she might die and him frantically looking for her to him getting really injured for her and then when they got back he just worked it out and started flirting with her hardcore bc he.. well worked it out in his mind and then he is just the kinda guy who is sure about himself once he works it out and goes for it.
like in the novel when he catches her he feels this relief and just rightness and thats why he kills all the monsters alone and gets this boost bc he feels like he can do anything now that he found her and she is back by his side.
idk after reading the novel this whole chapter has been a whiplash lol they are rushing so much, so many details have been left out so his behavior rn doesnt make all that much sense, like it kinda does but it also doesnt. like after they got back he was asleep for days and cherry was by his bedside tending to him a lot, being worried. he woke up with her snoozing on his bed next to him in a chair and that was a very pivotal moment as well for him to work out his feelings.
idk i felt like during previous arcs theyve never skipped this many details. art has been feeling rushed too so idk whats happening with the manhwa :( hope this is not a sign things are gonna go downhill ill be really sad
