They've gone through their own share of trouble more greater than any of their children. Their omega father even lost his sense of taste because of what he was put through- and the alpha father went out of control because he didn't release pheromones for too long. Also they never really abused their kids- they were working under the assumption that Grayson was a psychopath and wanted to make sure he wouldn't hurt anyone after he tried to poison his omega dad as a kid
Its not explicitly mentioned in DMIYC but even though they were trying to work under assumption that Graydon had ASPD , and yes Graysons actions were no good as it actively put others in danger, it does not mean he wasn't abused. Two things can be trye at the same time. Even before the poisoning of Koi incident happened, in their parent story Ashely actually choked Grayson because he interrupted their "smexy time" though Ashely did that because he has brain damage from pheremones, still does not take away from the fact Grayson was hit and abused and locked up to discipline him.

Thats what i am saying （￣へ￣）i am agreeing with you while i was replying to himefujoshi that regardless of parents intention of trying to discipline Grayson due to his ASPD , Grayson was indeed abused which Ashely justifies as "just stricter discipline" which is just abuse even if you paraphrase as discipline or trying to protect your partner.
