I see a number of comments about how “good” the story is. It’s a quick read. But the redemption was in poor execution.
It wasn’t actually stated in the manhwa, but in the novel, when Kang (ML) pushed Juheon (MC) away and told him to abort the baby stemming from his stupid speculation that Juheon cheated on him, he literally slept with multiple omegas in a span of 3 weeks to a couple of months.
The manhwa adaptation is vastly different from the novel, because they probably planned to make this a short story.
But in the Novel, Lee Kang thought Juheon cheated, so in order to forget him, he had sex with so many omegas. That’s how the confusion with his imprint surfaced. He didn’t know which omega he imprinted because he whored himself around.
It wasn’t until his illness manifested, that he became celibate until his reunion with Juheon. In this universe, imprinting and bonding works both ways. Alphas develop natural rejection towards other omegas once they imprint or bonded with another.
Also, in the novel, Juheon lived in a literal closet. It’s one of those claustrophobic rooms that can barely fit a single bed. He gave birth to Taeyang there. He was alone after his grandma died. He squandered on the streets looking for jobs, pregnant, alone, no family loving, no money, no food.
Now, when the truth came to light, Lee Kang found out Juheon’s circumstances. He felt so guilty that while Juheon was living in poverty, he’s there whoring around. The guilt was so strong he was hospitalized for vomiting, severe headaches and other physical manifestations.
The only reason most of you don’t hate him THAT much, is because you didn’t know about this detail. The adaptation definitely glossed over this to cut the story shorter.
