the plot was alright, it was cohesive in s1 and at the start of s2, however, there were a lot of things that were introduced/hinted that we're never really touch based on. it was kind of like when you go to the sea and you slowly inch your way down to the sea as you get use to the temperature but then you're pulled back. that's how it felt for me.
the main characters we're written well but i wish we could have explored further, specifically brett, he was honestly such an interesting character, we see his personality go to aloof to someone being calculative (perhaps sociopath). i wouldn't say a whiplash but a slap, i'm not saying his calculative personality is problematic, i like the fact he thinks rationally and logically while he aligns his own principles and morales. one thing i realised is that we barely got to see bretts internal dialogue on what he feels especially for hayden, tbh i don't think there's even one.
i also got sick of the fact that they would have sex like after a very important emotional angst scene, like can we at least let that simmer for 3-4 chaps before they fuck again, it ruins the atmosphere ngl and halted their progress in their relationship.
idk i really did enjoy reading this but at the same time it felt somewhat lacking, i think as i mentioned before that there were a things (past, symbolism) that we're introduced/hinted but never proceeded. like for example the side characters, it was alright, it was entertaining to read but lack any depth whatsoever and when there was a scene leading up to that it just moves onto the next. i would read it again only to further assess, especially their dialogues because in those moments where they are actually conversing (that progresses their relationship) they talk so metaphorically that in the middle me trying to decipher gets muddled up lol.
