Aww I really like that he didn't let it settle that the kiss was a "mistake", I think it's the worst kind of misunderstanding when one person understands "mistake" as "a thing I shouldn't have done impulsively". the other "a thing I totally regret and think was gross" and they both think the other person hates them.
