They have internal monologues in the novel that is why you understand them better. A manhwa artist cannot spend 3 pages describing their sinking dread. So all you can see is Varkas staring at her like he doesn't care.
ik that my problem isnt really varkas cuz i get the issue w him, its more abt the overall expressions or tone of the story rn like when thalia got crushed. i expected to feel more dread and despair during that scene, not bc of internal monologue but with the toning and visual impact
the expressions started to lack in depth/toning, but that last panel of varkas holding thalia in his arms was GENIUNELY so redeeming, one of the first times where i really felt the novel being accurately represented.
