fun fact: grayson and dane were the first characters that the author created in her omegaverse. so the thought that grayson's character was somewhat forced to be like this was debunk. it was the other characters who have been adjusted to be able to exist with the first 2 characters. if you would also observe how grayson's character was portrayed in other stories, he is very consistent and he was not as evil as you think, it just happen that it was from the pov of chase with a trauma and yeonwoo with disgust to alpha. he even saved yeonwoo from getting gangrape in kml, saved chase in side story. the author was developing grayson and dane's character by publishing the other stories.
so kmiyc is not the "og" it was actually dmiyc.
oh the fact that grayson is suppose to be the original is… bad. it doesn’t change the fact what i hate about his whole character concept, it made it even worse
Well it simply means that Grayson is not the type of character that you like and there is no issue with that. Most of the stories in this universe can still be read seperately, though the better fleshed out one will revolve about the more abrnormal and not too likable characters by normal standard.
I believe the author intention is to build up a world where it is clear that gender and pheromone level can significantly impact on not only the person but also everyone around them, how they view those dominant alpha/ omega, how they think of them. This unfortunately was not gone into details enough in the earlier published story, which makes people confused and taken aback in later publised ones. Some people will like this approach will some will prefer to stick to the lighter mood story which will be up to your preference.
For now, we know that the author has big plan to develop this universe beyond the Miller families and may goes into even darker themes. This is a plan she has been telling since years ago and as a reader we can pick and choose what we want to read but there is not much control we can do in what we want her to write or not.
if they can't stomach grayson's character how can they even read nathaniel's and dominic's? so it's really good that zig choose to publish kmiyc first, the soft and simplest one. they are not ready for kiss me series then lol because compare to if you can, i'm sure it would be more disturbing. surely these people can only handle characters like chase and josh. they are not ready for the complex characters in this series.
there’s an increasing trend of webtoon sequels that usually revolve around family member or friends of the main character from the original webtoon getting their own story. my biggest beef with them is that they are created by a different artist, and they certainly have different artstyle that sometimes it’s difficult to pin in my mind that this character is the same characters from the og. like i can’t see this character as the same one from the og (for example like in passion: raga). it creates a bridge and sometimes confuses me when they make references to the original story. perhaps this is just a skill issue on my part and i hope we can stop this MCU type ah webtoon and starts writing one that’s actually good.
second of all, grayson was painted as an awful human being in kiss me if you can. chase was scared of this man and i grew a hatred for him. and ofc when he got his own story, the author will pain his problems, his detachment, his problematic behaviour, his “idk im different than others” by making him neurodivergent WITHOUT spelling it out out because that would require them to potray them responsibly. they would of course, blame it on “aww he grew up rich but his daddy is being a meany towards him of course he would not understand how emotion works :(“. that could not made me despise the whole entire concept of grayson miller more.
on a positive note, i love dane. so much. an omega with buffy appearance, funny unironically, he has gorgeous melanin as well. the fireman squad were funny too, they all have pretty good personality for NPC’s in yaoi story. but i can’t say i’m excited to see these two get together. and it pisses me off because it had somewhat a potential. i just hate how grayson is written. i also lowkey hate his art design.
