First: A Trigger-Warning would be nice. There are so many topics like ra pe, torture, drugs and suicide. The psychological pressure is hard to read. Taesung has already harmed himself and he is blaming himself, feels powerless and helpless against his grandfather, so it is plausible, to end this. In his own depressive mind he is loaded with guilt, shame and fear, isolated and even if he took away the old mans wealth and got him into prison, he still feels his tight grip. Perhaps he fears his revenge, knowing what strings he can pull to harm his family.
But even if I do understand the attempt for suicide, I don't want this to end like this. I want him to survive this. Perhaps trying to end his life will be enough for his grandfather to feel regret. Maybe they just tell the old man, Taesung was successfull in his attempt so he has to live with the guilt.
