reminds me so much of 'the summer hikaru died' but with the angst multiplied tenfold. i like how it was initially set up for us to think that nanami was the 'alien' from rokuto's pov and rokuto continuing to worship nanami despite that. what hurt me the most was seeing nanami doing his best to keep the illusion running; throwing away his morals and sacrificing his humanity just so rokuto could keep living as a 'human'. the ending felt fitting for me as well - nanami making his once last sacrifice while rokuto is stuck in the same cycle of being reborn
((btw I also really adore their dynamics,, black cat x golden retriever who are equally devoted to each other is just *chef's kiss*))
