i do not understand why people dislike varkas. it is very clear he feels like an object owned by the imperial family and the only person he genuinely cares about is the FL. obviously something's wrong with him mentally or spiritually but people actively disliking him has me wondering if we're reading the same story at all. he has no choice but to marry the first princess and to do whatever he is told as he said "obedience was the only choice from the start". the only times he breaks that rule are when the FL is involved. idk why everyone is whining about it
