The writer is amazing. The artist is amazing…The subtle expressions on Garam that he’s completely checked out. It is so so so painful to watch while Heejae is unaware. The sex is hard to watch. Not even public humiliation can be enough to make Heejae share words of support (scene after Garam’s performance with the lotus bouquet). He’s never once noticed or cared about Garam’s pain. I can’t believe it took 3 years for Garam to receive gentle affection and Heejae can’t give Sorry or ILY after 4 years. Heejae has obliterated and crushed the lotus flower. The pond is also a metaphor. It exists only to be pretty and looked at but it can’t sustain fish. One of the latest chapters, Garam asks if they should finally deepen the pond for fish and Heejae says “That’s too much work.” It’s even more painful bc Garam is so young and conditioned to believe that love is suffering. Garam doesn’t have a SINGLE friend to confide to. Not even family! It’s just so upsetting!!!!!
