i think from what i have seen so far jaeyi uses repression to deal with the situations around him which is why i think even if he realise she might care for ideum more than he lets on he would surpress all that and fall into nonchalance and indifference because as long as you don’t care having something taken from you won’t hurt as bad you can tell he enjoyed judo the transition from him looking at the banner with his name on it and then the banner with someone else’s name in it shows us that and his habit of lying on the floor might be linked to trying to ground himself i feel so so so bad for him that’s such a strenuous pressure to put on a child because why did he genuinely have to compromise everything even having to give up judo which makes no sense to me since his brother became a swimmer anyways but i think this in a way shows how even if jiseong didn’t much care about certain things he still wanted to take them away from jaeyi just a miserable situation all around and while i can empathise with child jiseong you are a grown ass HELATHY RECOVERED MAN APPROACHING your thirties time to wisen up and get a grip of reality man
