RANTRANTRANT ignore me if you don't like long analyses
I'm gonna put trust in Jaeyi that this won't become nonconsensual only because he's proven that he's not that type of person. Shame on me if that ever comes to pass. But anyways, I'm gonna guess that he's gonna put up even MORE boundaries than before. Ideum's already feeling the tension from being told they're strictly fwb and now Jaeyi's doing that thing where he's creating distance between them because he doesn't want to get hurt. Jaeyi's not being honest with what he wants and he's probably gonna hurt Ideum by pretending they don't mean as much to each other when they actually do.
Also, Ideum and Jiseong couldn't be more opposite. While Ideum suffered alienation feeling like he was always a burden, Jiseong was spoiled to the point where he accused his little brother of wanting him dead. Ideum didn't have a stable support system growing up, and neither did Jaeyi, so the idea that they're both holding back on what they want is going to create both conflict and a reason for them to bond. If Ideum shows Jaeyi that he's not just a "thing" Jiseong could take away from him, that would be great. Ideum's a person, not a concept or thing to posess. Simply put, the difference now is that Ideum has the capacity to challenge Jaeyi's assumptions. Now that's IF Jaeyi allows for enough communication time to actually figure out how Ideum feels about him and respond to those feelings and not to Ideum as "Something Jiseong can take away from me again".
