I’m back here again because I’ve been thinking about that ending the entire time I was in class today…. lowkey, it’s a genius ending because there are so many different directions the story could go: A. The story’s plot stays the same, and Angie has now completely taken Seraphina’s place. She’s also locked up and adored by Ranielo until he loses himself from jealousy and kill one of her beloved maids or Eden. Angie will spiral the same way Seraphina did before finally killing him. (If Eden survives, the two of them will go back home traumatized) B. Eden manages to defy the gods, causing the story to be rewritten again. He’s able to pull it off since the only thing that cannot be changed in the story is Ranielo’s obsession. C. Ranielo defies Atilrus and finally learns to restrain himself, never harming anyone Angie cares about again. Without any new reasons to resent him, Angie’s stockholm syndrome only grows stronger. She will eventually accept her situation and ends up trapped in a miserable life with him forever. (This is the least likely ending since Eden is already sure that Angie is still alive so he 100% will keep searching for her. His determination is VERY strong in the story so to me, he does end up saving Angie and himself) It’s shocking and disappointing at first but it was deliberately left unfinished. Like the author handed us the final choice for how the story should end.
