Okay, so. I've read this yeeears ago. And I remembered it as a jewel, but now that I reread it as an adult, I have to say that Maya is a total red flag. Their "relationship" started with rape, blackmail and Nemu being insulted all the time. A lot of the fights happened because Maya was childish and just wanted to get his way instead of being reasonable. In the end only Nemu apologized and Maya was portraied as the victim. There were also too many scenes of him saying to Nemu they are breaking up over NOTHING. Nemu not answering the phone and he goes "let's break up" following Nemu crying and he doubling down and going "well, we will if you do it again". A PHONE CALL. He also goes off of Nemu being in pain while having sex so often. Absolute rapist mind set to say "but you liked it from the middle on" after Nemu expressing he needs to be better prepared for sex to enjoy it. Maya also has a lot of double standards. I am honestly shocked that I ever saw them as a dream couple when I was younger and from the comments I read I seem to be alone with this take.
