Everybody is either afraid of Guwon or worship him so he views the town's people as cattle and the hounds as, well, hounds who protect the heard. Because Guwon has assigned everybody one of two labels he sees himself as an anomaly - a person. He feels duty to them but no actual connection.
But because MC is unaware of the dynamics of the town and the hounds he views Guwon as neither above nor beneath them and treats everybody the same including Guwon. For the first time Guwon meets someone who challenges his views, corrects him and even worries over him. For the first time he meets another "person". So all the qualities MC displays are what draw Guwon in.
one of the rare times I dont know why guwon fell in love with MC. usually im like "THAT SHOULD BE ME INSTEAD OF ML" but not here. the way I dont even remember his name too. personality and looks of a napkin
