Are wild boars edible

Lloydsleftnut October 2, 2026 8:14 pm

I don't even know why I'm asking when I'm allergic to pork, wait does being allergic to pork mean I would be allergic to a wild boar?

Also is he actually going to hurt it? Like kill the animal? I thought his kind don't do that

all animals are edible. it's just whether or not they taste good

    1) Yes, wild boar is edible. It’s more lean and chewy than domestic pigs which are mostly fat (think strip steak vs wagyu) but apparently they have a nice nutty/pine taste if they eat a lot of wild berries. Yum!

    2) Yes if you’re allergic to pork, you’re almost certainly allergic to boar. They’re the same animal, only one is the domesticated form. Think wolf vs dog.

    3) I’m assuming you’re saying skunk is inedible because of the smell? But the odor is liquid they release comes from their scent glands, so if you were to remove those prior to preparation I’m guessing there wouldn’t be an issue. I’ve heard of people eating it in rural parts of some southern states.
