i feel like the art style change wouldn’t be so jarring if both artists had similar skill levels. i don’t exactly blame the new artist bc they’re just doing their job but i just don’t understand why the publisher wouldn’t just re-contract with the previous artist after the supposed contract ended. the least they could’ve done was find another artist with similar skill level… but i’m guessing the most likely reason why they didn’t do so was probably to cut costs. i don’t think the current artist is terrible, i’ve seen worse tbh and i appreciate their hard work. it’s just… like you said, the character’s are stiff, the storyboarding and panelling is weird. their expressions are so unnatural that it feels off. it was especially bad since we left off season 1 seeing yaejoon’s face very clearly mixed with anger, sadness and disappointment. then the next season starts with the new artist and the flashback to yaejoon’s outburst was just… not it yaejoon barely looked like yaejoon (somehow he got twinkified even further even tho he was already a twink) and tbh his expression looked so stiff it hardly conveyed his mix of emotions and intense anger at the moment. plus the way the characters are drawn are a little inconsistent. maybe people will just think i’m just an asshole nitpicking for nothing but the change is just so huge that even if i try to ignore it, i just can’t ;-;

It isn’t even just that it doesn’t look like the old art style, it’s that this art is just straight up way worse quality. All the characters look stiff now and none of the facial expressions are nuanced. I was literally begging for this to come back ever since season one ended and I’m heartbroken even as someone who most of the time doesn’t care about artist changes. This was just really my kind of story and now it feels ruined
