I just finished ch 18 and its been a slog. I generally think I have a pretty high tolerance for asshole top shenanigans but I'm getting frustrated. The slow plot progression combined with the ML repeatedly ruining any sympathy start to have for him by following every conversation with new ways to ignore the MC's wishes and/or assault him is getting old. I'm not one to clutch pearls when it comes to rape in fiction, but the story has to be interesting enough to justify it and I'm 18 chapters in and can't really feel any chemistry or warmth between them. I'm not expecting doe eyes and wedding bells, just more of a connection between the main characters. Anyway. Does it get any better and if so, when?
