I think it's more like that he jealous cause uke was paying more attention to the dog than him (as it's hinted in previous chapter) than make himself looks better. Still not okay and definitely ridiculous tho.

Oh my god :(( the dog is where I draw the line I know he didn’t kill the dog but it’s still awful he made the uke think that way to make himself look better
