I don't love that the grandpa is still feeding the parents information against the express wishes of his grandson. They were straight up abusive to the point he desperately ran away as a minor. I don't love that this is kind of rewarded by the narrative. Grandpa is so supportive otherwise, but he does perpetuate the narrative that you have to reconcile with your parents because they're your parents. And he did still fear that his gay grandsons. Would sing up alone forever.... Because he's gay. Even straight people aren't guaranteed a happily ever after marriage.
