It makes 0 sense to expose Elisabeth and Cynthia to these near death experiences. Not only because the Bailey family does not bother to even pretend like they're a secure/warm place for them, but because they're the sole reason such a low/medium risk, high reward deal is even possible. Especially with Elisabeth they had nothing to lose, but they screwed themselves trying to play mindgames with her.

I also do not understand the timeline here. First it's said that Elisabeth wasn't living in the capital for very long, but apparently it was enough to utterly dread her existence with the Baileys, have sketchy drugs prescribed to her and become enough of a hinderance to (not so) cautiously trample her with a carriage. She was there long enough to make friends with some dark magic nerd who ended up becoming an actor ffs. Doesn't sound like a "oh she just arrived, no one knows this hoe's face" type of timeline.

The plot overall here is kind of a let down tbh. The characters are very cute, but the overall story is just not doing anything too fancy here. My interest in the story is mostly carried by wanting to see ML and FL resolve their worries and circumstances, as well as my own delulu imagination.
You do not understand what I was on. When they went to the theater I thought that actor guy wasn't looking at FL, but ML. The flashy magic transformation happened and all of the sudden ML's vision falters again? What if the reason why the potion doesn't work on blind mice is bc it doesn't only cure eyesight but cancels out dark hallucination type magic on them? What if that magic was recast during this theater performance? What's with the crown prince showing up all of the sudden? What if the crown prince crippled ML on purpose? What if he instigated the carriage accident with FL to play her white knight and put ML in his place, twice? (bc he's so focused on satisfying his superiority complex)
I had smth way crazier for what happened with FL's soul in mind too, but you get the gist.
