sorry i got more thoughts.
imo eugene only considering being gay makes sense in this context because he has had no exposure to queer thought. why would he ever think of bisexuality? he really cares about how he’s perceived, especially by his teammates who embody the “ideal man”, and a lot of them make fun of gay people. they clearly dont understand the nuances of sexuality, why would he go out to explore that when all it would do is hurt him. he’s already fought to be recognized as an american man as an asian, and he’s STILL being monitored by others.
maybe the author wont ever touch that. but we’ll see since the story is still in its infancy

bro dont drag morgan into YOUR crisis he literally did nothing stop making it everybody else’s problem too omg
i like the connection between homophobia and racism though, kinda surprised a korean bl tackled. he’s so averse to morgan’s presence because he’s already desperate to fit in, to the point he’s scared of any deviation from the norm (ex. overthinking “gay” actions because that threatens his masculinity, something not really given to asians in a lot of western societies). even morgan being shy and not traditionally manly despite his size is threatening to him
