'A body was never found' but if he's not with Hizuki (and not necessarily in a romantic way), then that means he's once again just living a life where no one truly understands him, although this time he's maybe a little more at peace with himself.
For the sake of my sanity, I'm just gonna imagine that these two are now happily living together in a cottage core house on a cliff overlooking the sea ╥﹏╥
