Honestly, I can’t say I didn’t feel sorry for Rashta. Especially in the beginning, I was genuinely shocked to realize that she wasn’t actually malicious. She was almost naively innocent to the point of stupidity, and after a while, that innocence simply turned into foolishness.

She was uneducated, inexperienced, had never really seen much of the world, and had never truly been loved, yet somehow she had always tried to hold on to life. The fact that she didn’t even realize she was destroying another person’s home while doing so came from a kind of careless ignorance rather than deliberate cruelty.

Finding out that she had already lost one child, only to have her other child taken away from her as well, was genuinely heartbreaking. She was used and manipulated so horribly by terrible people. At first, I hated her because I thought she was doing everything deliberately, but especially after her child was taken away, the mental state she fell into made it clear that her situation was much more complicated—and that, in reality, Rashta was a truly pitiful person.

BUT that doesn’t mean she can be forgiven, of course. People learn. Even after everything she saw and experienced, she chose not to learn from it. She chose not to use her own judgment. So while I found her tragic and pitiful, I can’t say I was particularly sad when she died.

As for Sovieshu, I’d say he was the root cause of pretty much everything. I don’t feel sorry for him in any way, shape, or form. I hope he suffers even more.

Navier, of course, received help from other people as well, but rather than using them, she asked for their help and built relationships based on mutual support. She used her head. She carved out a life for herself. Yes, her coldness annoyed me at times, but ultimately, that was simply part of her personality.

The people I felt the most sorry for throughout this entire story were Rashta’s children and Grand Duke Kaufman…

P.S. The dragon? There was barely any information about it. They just threw it into the story and then took it out again. Considering how many events happened and how emotionally complicated this manhwa became, the ending honestly didn’t feel sufficient. Yes, it was a happy ending, but I really wish they had shown everything more clearly and given us more closure.

It took me a while to get used to the early art style, but it had its own charm and charisma. (Personally, though, I definitely prefer the later art.)

Overall, this was such a beautiful series in every way.

I LOVED IT.
