i think a lot of ppl are just biased. they’re both not bad people plus they were just teenagers. readers will plead for complex characters but when a complex character actually gets thrown at them, they don’t know what to do
A lot of the comments makes me wonder if I’m understanding their dynamic differently from some of you guys… Is there a different scenario going on that I’m not grasping? All he needs to do is apologize for being a dick and be sincere about it because the way he apologized a couple of chapters ago wasn’t it. Believing she’s a fool doesn’t make him a bad person. It just means he doesn’t understand her mindset and he might one day understand it as he too would act a fool around her. However I’ve got no clue how begging enters the chat. Begging for what? She wasn’t entitled to his feelings, especially not when he was a trauma-ridden kid with an abusive sperm donor at home. Or is he begging because he wants to be with her and she doesn’t want to? Is that the scenario? Because that’s the only one that makes sense.
So far the author hasn’t disappointed me with how the story is written so I hope it stays that way. I also personally believe she still loves him but got over it because of life circumstances probably turning her cold at the prospect of being with him or because she has enough fkd up shxt going on to even think about that.
