A little bit confused on end game now..

In author's Q&A, she makes it clear that the endgame pairing is solid with 0% chance of twist. This implies that Jinyoung is endgame, but then she also goes on to say that a character can still be the male lead even if he's failed at love - in this case is Suho. She says both Jinyoung and Suho are the male leads...but then goes on to say that season 2 will focus much more on Suho. It's odd because I feel like even season 1, we barely got of Jinyoung mhm.

I'm rooting for a Jinyoung ending but the author's words don't seem very encouraging here. Suho seems to be the favoured male lead..

Author even notes that her favourite scene in season 1 is Suho's confession. I even read the Korean comments, and most are convinced Suho is the endgame now y'all

    Wrap it up FAAAHHHHHHHH

Yeah, Korean readers always fall for second MLs for some reason. I fear that this author may be swayed by that..this Q&A really feels like she's solidifying Suho as endgame.

Which is a shame, I far much like FL's dynamic and progression with Jinyoung. FL hasn't even once looked at Suho romantically like that - this pairing just doesn't make sense to me. The only way I can see Suho being the endgame, is if the author pulls an OTL and My Introverted Boy - and creates an unnecessary separation/break up/time skip and Jinyoung ends up being written as an asshole while FL sways to Suho...

Yeah, I think the author is going the same route as her previous work. It's kinda sad if this were realistic, tbh, because you shouldn't bag your friend's crush, and Dajeong knows that Hyobin has a crush on Suho, at least. Maybe that's why the author didn't make Suho and Jinyoung friends, but I'm more worried about Dajeong and Hyobin. Although, knowing Hyobin, the author might force her to give way to Dajeong because Dajeong was there first as a childhood friend. Maybe she likes that trope? Even though she tries to deny the twist xD

Also, when the reckless cat, protective dog, and fox were mentioned... maybe the author was referring to the reckless little cat = Dajeong? (Tbh, I see her more as a rabbit, but "reckless" is very Dajeong-coded, and the author's doodles of her are mostly rabbit-like. I think Hyobin & Gyuri are more cat-coded.) Protective dog = Suho? Like, guarding his territory and being very loyal to Dajeong. And fox = Jinyoung? Maybe because he's flirty? Idk, these three reminded me of the dynamic between the characters from her previous work too, but like an HS version.

And yeah, you're right. When she said this series was basically created just to create that scene where Suho confessed, that's a HUGE giveaway. I wouldn't be surprised, but I'd definitely be disappointed. The author really gave credit to Suho, like without him, this series basically never existed T^T lmao.

Or the author is playing with us, and the reckless cat = Suho's features are cat-like described by the author, the dog = Hyobin because her tag is "loyal"? Then the fox = Suho's ex? I'm just coping T^T I hope the author doesn't intentionally make Jinyoung fumble like OTL and MIB tho.

What was her previous work? I'd like to read it so I can get a sense of this author's writing. That said - I'm holding on the hope that she'll write it differently this time since she'd already written a previous work following this trope.

But..man, this Q&A really points to a Suho endgame lol Even at the end, where she acknowledged that FL has never liked him romantically because he's her younger brother's rude best friend but then goes "but how will things turn out in season 2" Author is making it clear that FL is going to see him in a new light moving forward. Sigh, I have to mentally prepare myself for this - I've been emotionally attached to the Jinyoung and Daejong pairing, it'd break my heart to see them drift apart

As for the reckless cat, I believe this fits more of Suho (and as you said, author described his features as cat like). I think the big dog is Jinyoung, and the "territory" that it's fiercely protecting is Daejong. There's also drawings at the end that show Suho looking like a cat and Jinyoung like a dog. So when the author describes a full battle between a reckless cat and a fierce dog - I think she's talking about Suho vs Jinyoung. Were likely to see Suho acting recklessly and will try to get in between Daejong and Jinyoung, and we'll see more of Jinyoung getting protective and being more assertive. Regardless, the author is pretty much confirming that the love triangle will be on full force next season. As for the "fox sister"...not sure who this may be.

Oh I see! Yeah u r right abt the cat, dog, fox (prolly Dogyeom? he looks like a fox xd). And her previous work was Youth Diary! This series honestly made me feel like I was re-reading the same trope with that series except Jinyoung is loveable, and I hope he doesn't end up the same way but ig I get the feels like it is, and the author wanting to end it at Season 2 and that S2 will be a "from someone to Dajeong" thing where she clearly emphasizes that S2 will be Suho's season yeah I guess. And yeah I rooted for Jinyoung too, and he was purely the reason we started reading this, before Suho was even properly introduced. but I guess we're going down this route again.
