straight to my most anticipated reads

i think i stopped around the 80 something chapter because unfortunately i had to lock in and apply for jobs (disgusting i know)

but man, i’m looking forward to complete the entire 200+ chapters of this. this is by far one of the most well-written “historic” setting. for whatever reasons i always compare things to game of thrones (hah), but it does have the world building intricacy elements that i like. every character’s motivation and (initial) prejudice is well-explained, and what you thought was “tropey” in the beginning is given more depth without slowing down the pace of the story

it’s also so unassumingly feminist (not rebecca f kuang type of in your face content). usually the “healer” type is the girl, and the martyred overpowered hero is the boy, but this one has all the tropes in twists. it’s so rare for a korean manhwa and maybe that’s why it’s less popular than the popular slops. because this manhwa asks the readers to look deeper

and that’s also before all the anti-propaganda, anti-child soldier, and anti-war imageries that is very much needed at this day and age.

i hope chapter 80-200+ will live up to the beginning of the story. looking forward to see how things will unfold. love it when a rofan is more fantasy than romance, it builds the romance really well
